Privacy
It is not unusual to need to have a vision panel (a glass window) in a door. They enable people to see whether a room is free; they are a safety feature enabling people to see whether anyone’s coming the other way before they open a door; they may also help let some valuable extra light into a room. But particularly in a healthcare environment, privacy can also be essential.
At Performance Doors we have a comprehensive range of different vision panels with a variety of solutions that offer privacy when it’s needed. Here’s a quick overview:
Blinds
We have a range of vision panels with blinds that are located between the two panes of glass. There are slatted blinds and Venetian blinds, with manual or fully automated operation, and because they are behind the glass, there is no need to worry about cleaning them.
Switchable glass
Alternatively, you may choose to specify doors with the latest high-tech switchable glass, which turns from clear to opaque at the flick of a switch. The special interlayer is sandwiched between two sheets of glass, protecting it from damage and meaning the glass can be cleaned in the same way as any other piece of glass.
Access control
In a healthcare environment, there are often some areas to which access needs to be restricted. We have a range of access control packages that can be specified with any of our doors and doorsets, ensuring that only authorised people have access to the restricted areas.
