What is ASDMA?

ASDMA was founded in 1990 by a group of timber door manufacturers, including Noberne Doors, that specialised in custom-made products, as time has gone on membership has expanded to include all types of performance-based door manufacturers and component suppliers.

ASDMA focuses its efforts on the correct manufacture, specification, installation, approval and maintenance of fire doors. Performance Doors is a founding member of the association and acted as a co-author on writing the ‘Best Practice Guide to Timber Fire Doors’ manual that outlines the correct procedures and detailing to timber fire doors.

The ASDMA definition of a fire door is “a complete installed door assembly comprising doorframe, door leaves, other panels, hardware, seals and any other glazing that when closed is intended to resist the passage of fire and smoke in accordance with specified performance criteria.”
